● Sinking the Tirpitz, We have had the rear gunners daughter of the aircraft that dropped the bomb on the Tirpitz, come and fly with us. Very interesting to see his Log Book entry for the raid.
● The Great Escape, The son of the last person to enter the tunnel, but not escape, who was shot down over Berlin after previously being the navigator in the Pathfinders aircraft who marked the Peenemunde rocket site.

Up and coming events
(and those attended by us to date)
● East Kirkby Air display 2027, We will be attending this event with a full stand with details of what we have to offer to those wishing to experience flight in a Lancaster bomber.
● Compton Abbas “D” Day fly in, As above we will attend with a full stand at this annual event here in Dorset
Do come and visit us at one of these events.
● International Bomber Command Centre, IBCC, as a team we met with the CEO this year, in Lincolnshire, and are working with them towards educating young children. Any contributions we receive throughout the year at LFUK will be presented to the IBCC to go towards their education program.
● Lectures, We will be giving illustrated talks at
Boscombe Down on 9th March
International Bomber Command Centre on 8th April 2027.
We offer these talks free of charge for interested parties, we just ask that there be at least 30 attending.
Bespoke WW11 sorties,
● The Tirpitz, we have flown over Norway and made a bombing run over the exact spot where the Tirpitz was sunk.
● Dambusters raid, second wave, we have worked out and flown the exact route flown by Geoffrey Rice to the place where he struck the water and lost the Upkeep bomb to within 30 seconds of the original sortie in real time. This arranged so that his daughter can experience what her father flew back on that famous night in 1943. With research we have the exact times and a copy of the actual navigator’s log . It is a privilege for us to be able to arrange this type of flight for surviving family members to experience.
● Warsaw Uprising, We have been asked to organize and fly the later section of this historic flight with a supply drop as was carried out in 1944.
● Augsburg Raid, at the request of a retired serving 44sq member we have worked out the precise route flown that day and in 2027 will be flying the route in real time. We have a little bit of leeway as they did go slightly astray on the return section !
We have arranged and set out various other historic and bespoke flights including over the Derwent reservoir , where 617 trained and are happy to consider others ,if we are able to undertake them with you as the pilot or flighty crew, contact us with details.
